Welcome to the Galesburg Community Chorus Website

The Galesburg Community Chorus, directed by Tim Pahel, was founded in 1945 and is celebrating its 66th year of existence. Its mission is to share the gift of great choral music, inspire new generations with the love of singing, and to broaden its reach to all people. The Chorus is open to all without audition and includes members of all ages and a wide variety of musical backgrounds. The group performs two main concerts each year, focusing most often on the great repertoire for chorus and orchestra. Some recent highlights have included Brahms' Requiem, Handel's Messiah,
and Haydn's Mass in Time of War.

Rehearsals for the 2011-2012 season begin on Monday, August 29 at 7 p.m. and continue on Mondays (except Labor Day) from 7-9 p.m. in Jay Rehearsal Hall in the Fine Arts Center at Knox College. All are welcome!  We will perform Bach's Magnificat and Charpentier's Midnight Mass for Christmas this fall.
